4 Years of GeoAnalTech: A Message From the Convener

Four years ago, GeoAnalTech began as a simple idea in my heart, a belief that tech education should not be a privilege reserved for a few, but a right accessible to all. I didn’t know how far we would go, or how many lives we would touch. I only knew one thing: if we could teach one person, we could change one future… and maybe, change many more.

Today, as we mark our fourth year, I look back with profound gratitude and awe at what we have built together.

Four Years of Building, Learning, and Becoming

We started small - no big budget, no polished systems, no grand infrastructure.

Just passion. Determination. And a commitment to serve.

But class after class, month after month, year after year, message after message, something extraordinary happened:

A community formed. A movement grew. A vision took shape. GeoAnalTech is no longer an idea- it is a home. A space where people learn, rise, try, fail, try again, and eventually become.

Here’s What We’ve Built Together

Over the last four years, we have:

Trained hundreds of learners across Nigeria and beyond
Delivered practical, career-transforming skills in Data Analytics, M&E, Python, GIS, Big Data, Qualitative Research, DHIS2, and more
Helped students transition into new roles, start internships, gain confidence, build portfolios, and stand taller in their careers
Developed a culture of integrity, learning, collaboration, and excellence

These achievements are not mine - they are ours.

What I Saw Behind the Scenes

Learners attending class with a low battery, but high determination
Facilitators staying long after class just to ensure one student understood
Volunteers sacrificing sleep, data, and weekends to keep the community running
A community choosing consistency over comfort, growth over excuses

There were heavy days - days when the load felt overwhelming. But every time I feared we had reached our limit, someone… showed up. And we moved again.

This is more than four years of teaching tech. It is four years of shaping futures. Four years of unlocking potential. Four years of proving what is possible when learning meets purpose. We grew not because everything was perfect, but because we chose to persist, to serve, and to believe in each other.

As we enter this next chapter, my commitment remains the same:

We believe that quality tech education should be available to anyone willing to learn-regardless of background or starting point. What started as a simple idea has grown into a vibrant learning community of curious, determined individuals committed to growth and meaningful impact.

Over the years, we have seen individuals join us with curiosity and leave with confidence. Beginners have taken their first steps into tech, career switchers have found new direction, and professionals have sharpened their skills to meet evolving demands. Most importantly, we have seen knowledge translate into opportunity-and opportunity into meaningful progress.

At Geoanaltech, learning goes beyond acquiring tools or earning certificates. We focus on understanding, application, and relevance. Our programs are designed to equip learners with practical skills while encouraging critical thinking, ethical practice, and continuous improvement. Through structured training, mentorship, and peer collaboration, we create an environment where learning is both engaging and impactful.

Community remains central to everything we do. We believe growth happens best in spaces where people feel supported, challenged, and inspired. By fostering collaboration and shared learning experiences, we ensure that no one walks their journey alone.

As Convener, my responsibility is to steward this vision with integrity and care-ensuring that GeoAnalTech remains a trusted space for learning, growth, and opportunity. Every initiative we undertake is guided by a commitment to excellence, inclusion, and long-term impact, with the goal of building capacity, opening doors, and empowering people to contribute meaningfully wherever they find themselves.
